What is the Creative Ignition Circle?
The Creative Ignition Circle combines elements of a mastermind group and group coaching.
What’s a Mastermind Group?
The term “mastermind” is bandied about a lot on the web. What the heck does it mean, anyway?
Although the word is used to describe all sorts of things, traditionally a mastermind group is a participant-led group of like-minded members, who raise the bar for each other by challenging each other to create and implement goals, brainstorm ideas, and support each other with total honesty, respect and compassion.
Napoleon Hill formally introduced the concept of the “mastermind alliance” in his timeless classic, Think and Grow Rich, but mastermind groups have been around as long as there have been human beings.
Whenever two or more people come together to work toward a definite purpose, Hill writes that they create “a third, invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind [the master mind].”
Or to put it more plainly, there is genius in groups.
Multiple minds working together create a synergy that is greater than the sum of its parts. Which is why I LOVE working with groups!
The problem with most mastermind groups…
…is that peer-led masterminds almost always end up dissolving into a “chat session.” Which can be fun, but then nothing gets done.

The Circle Structure
How does all this work, you may be wondering?
Circles meet weekly for 90 minutes via a private conference telephone line, three weeks out of each month, with a week off in between.
Why the off week?
Great question – I’m glad you asked! The week off allows you time to integrate and implement everything you gleaned, and use your new tools, techniques and confidence on your own. It’s a great opportunity to practice, and to report back at the next session with your progress and whatever challenges came along.
(And if you really miss meeting on the phone that week, you can always come to my monthly Living A Creative Life telephone chat, which is rather conveniently scheduled on the “off-weeks.” :))

FAQs
Is 15 minutes of one-on-one time each week really enough to accomplish anything?
Oh, baby, you have no idea! First off, it’s amazing what happens when you focus in. It’s true, you don’t have the same kind of leisure to meander around a subject that you do in an hour-long session, but I find that clients come really ready to get down to work when they know their time is limited.
Plus one of the huge benefits of working in a group format is the learning and epiphanies that happen just from listening to your compadres being hot-seated. Frequently big questions are answered before it even gets to your turn, so when you do get to your turn, you can really take it up a notch.
What if I can’t make all of the phone meetings?
No problem! Of course you won’t be able to be “hot-seated” in person if you’re not on the call, BUT if you know in advance that you won’t be there, you can email me any issues/questions you have, and I’ll address them on the call. Which will, of course, be recorded, so you’ll get feedback from me and the group even if you can’t be there! Pretty cool, huh? (Plus don’t forget that you’ll learn a ton from listening to your fellow Circle-members get hot-seated.)
