I would love to win t TAP! I feel completely lost when it comes to the business side of art. I feel I am finally at a place where I can promote myself, but I don’t know what to do. I need help!
Melissa Dinwiddie says
Consider yourself entered, Kirsten!
Most artists feel lost when it comes to the business side of things. I’m on a mission to help!
Love your paintings, btw (esp. your cat portrait! :))
Kim says
The winner will be very lucky. I’m honored to be a part of ttap.
Christine Martell says
I think it is really important to have a community of artists who are focused on the business side and looking for new ways to support our work. I would hope to contribute my experience over the years and get new ideas for how to deal with all the new channels available to us. We’re stronger in community!
Janet says
GOSH! I almost missed the deadline but thanks to Melissa and signing up for emails, I made it! Thanks so much. I’m a bit behind in response do to life changing events so as you can see, I need H-E-L-P in finding out how to be more creative in finding a way to make money at what I love to do most…ART!
Melissa Dinwiddie says
@Janet and @Christine, thanks for commenting! Don’t forget to tweet, too, to get more entries to win. 🙂
David says
I am submitting to win. I should win because:
1. Clearly I need help since I waited till literally the last possible minute to enter.
2. I have a large base of artists who listen to me and I would be willing to tell them about this site
3. I have have run or worked in arts organizations that have budgets from 300k to 3million.
4. I’m a nice guy
5. I’ve been a performer, choreographer, producer, administrator, educator, arts retail seller, etc.
Dena says
I am a grateful member of this community of artists. It’s turning my life around. Little steps and big chunks of information are helping me sift through my own self image as an artist/businessperson as I ferret out the old non-functional ways of behaving.
Melissa Dinwiddie says
I’m so glad to have you, Dena! And so happy to know tTAP is making a difference. 🙂
Julie Vaughn says
OK your last e-mail has guilted me into this 🙂
•why you want membership in the Thriving Artists Project
Well what starving artist wouldn’t want to be thriving instead?
•what you hope to get from it
insight as to how to better use my talents to make money as I am currently incredibly broke and underpaid and wondering if I really should be a singer when I grow up.
•and why my panel of partial judges should pick you as the winner
Because I ROCK (or perhaps out of pity and to keep me off the streets.) There you go. 😉 ~Julie
Giesla Hoelscher says
I would love a membership in the Thriving Artists Project because I think community is one thing I’m missing from finally pushing my business forward instead of sitting still. I find myself getting so overwhelmed and unfocused when I have no one to turn to for help. I also would like a membership because I currently am digging myself out of the stupid business debt I created for myself by flailing and throwing money at things thinking it would make everything better. I want and need help but don’t want to create more debt to pay for it.
I hope to get some guidance into making a solid plan and helping myself get unstuck. I also hope to reduce the overwhelm by having a place I can go to to yell HELP!!
I should be picked as the winner because I KNOW with a lot of hard FOCUSED work that I can finally move forward into being the thriving artist I want to be!
Effy says
I deserve to win because I am giving an enormous amount of energy to the mixed media community and I want to learn how to THRIVE in the process. 🙂
Melissa Dinwiddie says
Effy! So great to see you here! I LOOOOOVE your blog and the cool community you’ve got going! 🙂
Melissa Dinwiddie says
@David,
@Julie,
@Giesla,
Consider yourselves entered!
(And just because you were awesome enough to enter, you’re going to get a little prezzie, even if you don’t win. It pays to pay attention. :))
Dana Barbieri says
I don’t know if I am too late. The email you sent ended up in spam. ::
I was thinking about this site earlier today and how I really believe in it. One of my affirmations is “I am a thriving artist.”
I would love to receive such a generous gift of a one yr. membership to tTap. For me this would be the only way to join.
Thank you for the chance.:)

Melissa Dinwiddie says

Angel says
*I’d love to get into the Thriving Artists Project because it would be so amazing to be part of the community of various artists who are actually out there & doing their thing. I’ve long had this secret little seed inside me, just itching to unfurl into the light of day & grow into a strong and thriving creative being.
*My hope is that being part of the Thriving Artists Project community would help me learn the marketing & business side of things more & thus give me ways to add the art that I’m itching to create to what I’m now doing & that the two together could (finally!) help me make the leap from this creativity & soul-crushing day job I slog off to each and every weeekday.
*I should be chosen for this bit because I’ve already got the creativity, I’ve already put myself out there in other ways, and I’m willing to do the work…. as of now, I just don’t know where to start & what to do. This could help by giving me the direction (and the nudge ;-))
Dana Barbieri says
i just realized i didn’t actually answer your questions… so
* why you want membership in the Thriving Artists Project–I REALLY want to learn to be a THRIVING ARTIST. I want to be able to use what I love and know in heart that I am, an artist, to provide financial stability to our family. I don’t want to put my energy into something that I don’t love. I am a mom and currently don’t work, (outside of the home and for no pay anyway :))and it is really important to me to show my children that you can live your dream. Plus, there is that wanting to be able to take care of myself.
* what you hope to get from it-knowledge, tools, a real way to to THRIVE as an artist!
* and why my panel of partial judges should pick you as the winner
I am committed, excited, determined. To be a THRIVING artist has been something that has been in me for a long time. In some way, shape, or form I believe it can be. Plus, if (no, when) I THRIVE financially, I will pay it forward to someone who is right where I am now. 🙂
thank you. :)fingers crossed
Melissa Dinwiddie says
