My subscribers are some of the most amazing, creative people I know, and as such the rest of the world should know about them. To that end, I’ve started an ongoing series, in which I periodically showcase a few of my new and longtime subscribers right here on the very pages of my blog.
So, with no further ado, I present for your viewing pleasure three more of my amazing and talented subscribers who are worth watching.
Happy weekend!
Vas Littlecrow – Fearless Visual Artist
Thriving Artists Project member Vas (Reverend Vas Littlecrow Wojtanowicz (neé Colón-Ortiz)) has been producing fearless visual arts since 1997. She shares her practice exercises in the form of a Daily Doodle on her site, Vas Little Crow.
But there’s more! If you want to discuss “PG-13 or worse,” as she puts it, head over to Vas’s other site, Catnose® Comics. There you’ll find “semi-autobiographical slices from the life of a cute model and dancer.”
(Vas has also been a huge supporter of my online work in general, and has contributed words for my not-quite-daily ArtSpark, for which I send her big, virtual hugs. *mwah!*)
Diane van der Zanden – Sculptor
Years ago Diane and I were part of an amazing group for women artists, No Limits for Women in the Arts, which used co-counseling theory and processes to help each other free ourselves from whatever was keeping us from living our biggest visions for our lives. I was always incredibly impressed with Diane’s work as a sculptor, so it a was a real treat to have her reappear in my life and subscribe to LACL!
Diane has not one, not two, but FIVE blogs to explore:
Her portfolio of sculpture: http://vzport.wordpress.com/
Goings on about the Rancho where she lives with her husband, 12 miles north of Colima, Mexico: http://flordelcerro.wordpress.com/
How to make sculpture: http://vzmolds.wordpress.com/
Days of Mud and Lemonade, “a record of my life as a gringa sculptor in Colima, Mexico”: http://zzsculpt.wordpress.com/
Amy Crook – Lifelong Artist & Thriving Graphic Designer
Amy has been an active member of the Thriving Artists Project community since day 1. As a thriving graphic designer, she’s got all bases covered: she’ll design you a website, a logo, an e-book, even turn you into a cartoon! Find her design work at Not Dead Yet Studios (a reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail – geez that clip cracks me up every time).
But wait, there’s more! Amy’s also an artist. You can see her paintings and other creations – from abstracts, to sea creatures, to whimsical entities, to zombies, skulls and other morbid things – at Antemortem Arts. (As in “pre-dead – get it?)
And if you like getting artwork in your email box, be sure to sign up for Amy’s mailing list and she’ll deliver new art to your inbox every time she posts it on her blog.
(Shhhh… Secret tip: If you know what an “Easter egg” is, look for one in the background image of Amy’s site. [Right click (Windows)/Control click (Mac) on the background and select “View Background Image” to see it.])
That wraps up today’s dispatch. Enjoy, and go get creating!
PS – Want to be included here in a future subscriber showcase? All blog subscribers are welcome to apply. If you’re not already a subscriber, you can sign up using the form at the upper right, then send me a link to your cool, creative stuff.
