A few years ago, when she was launching her business, Lisa Cummings asked herself, “What could I do that I’ll be interested in a decade from now?” Her husband, who knows how much she changes her mind, laughed out loud.
As someone who also changes my mind a lot, I can relate.
Turns out, as the CEO of Lead Through Strengths, Lisa may have found the career that will not only hold her interest until she’s into her 80s, but she feels like she’s on track to fall more in love with her career for decades to come.
What Lisa does with her company seems like an obvious concept: as a StrengthsFinder trainer, she works with corporate teams to help them find their natural talents and strengths, so they can use them as “easy buttons” in their day-to-day work.
In other words, she helps people use their strengths at work, so they can strengthen their performance at work.
It seems obvious, but Lisa has found it to be phenomenally energizing.
People who are “burnt to a crisp” from spending their workdays not using their talents are completely rejuvenated by the prospect of bringing their natural talents and strengths to what they do, rather than always feeling like they have to push through their weaknesses. Her work gets Lisa more and more excited day by day, and talking with her was inspiring for me, too!
Have a listen, and let me know what part of our conversation resonated the most for you.

Something Cool
From Lisa:
OurGroceries is the simplest way to keep your grocery lists instantly synchronized on all the smartphones in your household—and it’s free!
From Melissa:
IMPACT is a personal safety, assertiveness and self-defense training program that teaches full-force fighting techniques, in a sensitive, supportive environment. It is part of a comprehensive effort to prevent sexual assault and other acts of interpersonal violence and boundary violations.
A-MA-ZING! One of the safest, most supportive environments I have ever been in, in my entire life. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
Enjoy!

That’s it!
