So how’m I doing in my quest to re-invent my life, follow my evolving Blisses and create the life I really, really want?
All work and no play makes Jane a dull girl. Thankfully, however, though I didn’t get much down time this week (getting ready to re-launch the Thriving Artists Project may possibly kill me), I did get some play time at last night’s Uke Diva gig at DaSilva’s in Berkeley!
I wanted to share some video from the gig, but dangit it’s been so long since I uploaded one from my Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video Camera (aff) that I forgot how long the darn things take to process.
So it’s just typing tonight, kiddos.
But no worries – I’ll share the vids as soon as they’re done (though be advised that may be after the Thriving Artists Project is launched…)
Oh, and in case you’re wondering, tTAP launch day is February 8. But there will be a presell discount special promo yadayada blahblah thingy for the folks signed up on the TAP advance notice discount list, so if you’re not on it yet, now’s the time. Sign up here. You’ll get the 30-day complimentary Sneak Peek, too, so you can’t lose.
You may also have noticed a few changes around here on the ol’ blog: spiffy new banners for my consulting services! I’m so excited about them I’m even attaching them to this post, which, if you’re reading this in an email, may not seem like overkill, but if you’re reading it on my home page, surely is. Well, I’m too tired to worry about the consequences, so they stay.
Creating banners been on my list o’ things to do for ages, but not in the “most urgent” category. Until my meeting with my life coach on Monday, when she all but slapped me upside the head to get me to put some darn banners up NOW.
Okay! Okay!
It seems yours truly still has a few issues to work out around my beliefs (or lack thereof) that I’m capable of making money. Shouting my services out to the world in a louder fashion is part of my attempt to deprogram those beliefs. (Which, btw, I’m quite aware aren’t true. But ingrained beliefs are funny that way – you believe the even when you don’t believe them. If you know what I mean.)
Other achievements this week:
- Outsourcing! My 365 Days of Genius editorial calendar is just about ready to send to my new VA, to get her started logging daily resources. Just a few screenshots and I’ll be ready to go.
- Guest Blogging! No fewer than 9 (count ’em – nine) guest blog posts and interviews in the can and scheduled to run (or already ran) between Jan. 25 and Feb. 9 – part of my attempt to make a splash before my launch (I seriously need to learn to A) write faster, and B) write shorter posts…)
- Breakthrough (finally!) with my knee!Along with everything else going on, I’ve got this deformed knee that I’m still trying to rehab, now 11 1/2 weeks post-op. 3 hours of PT appts, each week is not helping my “way too much to do and not enough time to do it in” panic, nor is the requirement to do gobs of exercises on my own at home. BUT, said exercises are finally starting to pay off. I realized I was being a bit too tentative with some of my stretching exercises, and have tried pushing them a bit more in the past few days, with positive results.
Maybe I will get my knee back eventually… My leg still looks a bit like a baby giraffe (you know, all enormous joints) with a swollen lateral patella and a large lump where the new patella-femoral medial ligament was installed. But I have an appointment with my acupuncturist on 2/7, and he did wonders for my mom’s mass of scar tissue after an Achilles tendon repair, so I’m hopeful he can help get me back from giraffe to human again. Will keep you posted…
- Frequent Flyer Miles! My trial membership in Chris Guillebeau’s Travel Hacking Cartel (affiliate) is proving to be quite exciting. So many cool offers in one central location (and such a beautifully-designed site, I couldn’t help but Tweet my compliments to Reese, the talented designer.) I’m not sure how many miles I’ve accumulated so far, but a helluva lot more than I would have without the THC, that’s for sure!
That’s enough for now. If I don’t shut down now I’ll never wake up in time to get my sales tax return filed by the deadline tomorrow.
Signing off. Back at the salt mines tomorrow…
