Bliss Evolves #4

Brushing water on top of a dried wash of walnut ink is what created the squares and blobs on this piece. Although at first I was annoyed at the way the paper soaked up the water and distorted my lovely squares, this actually became one of my favorite parts of this piece. Anything worth doing - whether a work of art or world peace - is accomplished one step at a time, and those steps are rarely as clean or clear as a perfect square. Creation Notes:

When I first started my blog, in March 2010, this phrase, “Bliss evolves… Keep following it!” was my tagline. It’s really true that bliss evolves: you have to keep close tabs on your blisses, or you’ll suddenly notice they’re heading in a different direction than the path you’re on!
