I’m freshly back from an amazing week at music camp, which feels a lot like being freshly back from a trip to Europe.
In other words, seriously jet-lagged.
Except that there were no jets involved. So perhaps, music-camp-lagged?
Whatever. You may sense a rather low-energy, slur-speeched vibe in the video. Take no notice. That’s just normal post-camp lag. I’ll be back to normal sometime next week.
And despite the sleepy, low-energy vibe, the message is what counts. All about priorities, choices, and how living a life of overall balance sometimes requires periods of extreme imbalance.
Hopefully it will all make more sense when you watch the video.
Or maybe not. Let me know either way.
(Only 355 more days til I get to go back to CCMC. Sigh.)

Hey Melissa,
I’m a regular reader/listener who inhabits a world not unlike yours in a very different physical place. I live in Val Marie, Saskatchewan, Canada (http://www.villageofvalmarie.ca/ on the edge of Grasslands National Park (http://www.pc.gc.ca/pn-np/sk/grasslands/index.aspx), where I operate Grasslands Gallery (new website under creation and currently looking a bit spotty) and my own two studios, the summer one at the gallery and the winter one at my home. I love your regular bursts of inspiration and continually admire the way you move right to the heart of things. This week: way to go on imbalance and choice. You give me courage!

Hey Laureen,
Thanks for your comment. What a gorgeous setting you live in! I look forward to seeing your gallery website — please be sure to send it to me!
Your comment gives me courage to keep doing this — thanks so much! 🙂

Melissa — thanks so much for this timely reminder. Most of my life & “Job” lately has been getting my mom settled & re-settled in assisted living for the past few months, with little energy left over for creative pursuits. And last night I just remembered that making the MUSIC my first priority is what I need. Life presents us with it’s challenges and continuing to work in a creative field while making sure mom is safe has been mine this year. Thanks again for your post. In harmony, Deborah

I’m so glad this video spoke to you, Deborah! Boy-oh-boy, taking care of a loved one is a big deal, and can be so draining. I hope you can keep pulling your music back to the front burner where it belongs, while still making sure your mom is safe. 🙂 xom
