Doesn’t it seem like things often come in threes? That’s the case for me: I’ve got three good things going on that you might want to know about:
Thing the First: Spring Cleanout Sale Next Week!
Yes, in the spirit of “Everything Must Go” sales that stores have when they move or go out of business, I’m having a big Spring Cleanout Sale next week!
Never fear, though, I’m not going out of business. I am moving, however, and closing some courses down, and you get to benefit!
Last year I overhauled my studio, thanks to the Great ClutterBust, and MM and I held a yard sale to clear out old stuff and make space for the new.
This year I’m doing the same thing with my website. Actually, two websites: this site, melissadinwiddie.com, which is my main site and blog, and creativeignitionclub.com, which is the membership site where my e-courses have always lived.
Why two separate sites? Because membership sites require plugins that are notorious for causing issues with other plugins, and that leads to all sorts of really nasty technical glitches. Plus membership plugins can be a big drag on site load times.
So to avoid those problems I’ve always kept my course content on creativeignitionclub.com. But that has led to other problems, namely a whole lot of confusion for people who buy something here, but then have to login somewhere else entirely to access their course materials.
Thankfully, this particular issue is on its way to being solved, because last month I moved this site to the Rainmaker platform, and one of the cool features of Rainmaker is that membership site functionality — and in the Pro version, a true LMS (Learning Management System) — is baked into the code. No nasty plugins necessary!
In other words, going forward, all of my courses will be able to live right here, instead of over on a separate site!
But just like moving in the physical realm, moving in the digital realm takes a lot of work. And just like moving house, this website move is a great opportunity for me to assess what to spend my time and energy moving, and what makes more sense to leave behind.
Next week, I’m holding a Spring Cleanout Sale of two of my classic e-courses, Creative Ignition Kit and Playshop in a Box, before they go away for good!
They’ll be available only as a combined package, and, if you buy the bundle, you’ll also get full membership in the July 14-20 session of Creative Sandbox 101, the mini-course that has kicked over a thousand people into creative action in just one week.
So, yeah, that’s three courses, packaged up with a virtual bow, for just $50. And you’ll have access to all the materials until the end of the year. (Oh, and there will also be an option to add a one-hour 1:1 session with me for half my usual rate. Sweet!)
If you could buy these e-courses a la carte (which, for Creative Ignition Kit and Playshop in a Box, you can’t), all three together would be $111, so you can do the math.
And remember, this is the last time you’ll be able to get Creative Ignition Kit and Playshop in a Box, ever, because at the end of the year, creativeignitionclub.com is closing down forever, and those two e-courses are going away.
I’m cleaning them out to make room for new products and programs.
All this is to say, stay tuned for the Spring Cleanout Sale email next week.
Thing the Second: New Art Goodies!
You may know that subscribers to my ArtSpark Newsletter get a new painting in their inbox every weekday. You may also know that every painting goes up for auction for a week, to give subscribers an opportunity to set the price they want to pay before the “Buy Now” price (currently $150) goes into effect.
(Didn’t know all that? Now you do! Click here to subscribe to the ArtSpark.)
What you probably don’t know (unless you follow me on Facebook or Twitter), is that last week I decided to try an experiment, and offer some of my designs as throw pillows, T-shirts, greeting cards, prints, stretched canvases, cell phone cases, and more.
Here’s an example of some of the products available with my painting, Turtle Tricks:
Cool, huh? And that’s just one of the designs up on my new print shop! I’ll be updating the collection all the time, but click here to see the current line.
Thing the Third: FREE Consulting!
Yep, that’s right, I’m offering free consulting to anyone who shows up at my live “Ask Me Anything” video call on Thursday, June 4th.
Here’s the scoop: on July 1st I’m launching a new podcast, Live Creative Now, to help you CREATE your art and SHARE your work, because that’s how you will CHANGE THE WORLD!
Whether you’re a writer, visual artist, musician, crafter, maker, or any other kind of creator, the goal of this podcast is to get you past fear, self-doubt and distractions to do exactly what the title says:
Live Creative Now! No waiting. No excuses. No “someday”s.
(Hint: It’s the same thing I already endeavor to do in my articles here, but in an intimate, laid-back, audio format. 😉 )
Most episodes I’ll be addressing issues and topics brought up by my audience members, but once a month I’m doing it live, and you’re invited to join in! All you have to do is register here to get access to every monthly call I do in 2015.
I’ll take the best questions from the live calls and edit them into future podcast episodes, so anybody will be able to listen in to the edited version later, but if you register, whether or not you attend live, you’ll get almost immediate access to the “rough cut” replay.
(Curious? I held the first live call a couple of weeks ago, and you can watch the whole thing right here. You’ll have to type in your name and email, and will be subscribed to my Insiders’ Newsletter if you’re not already a subscriber, but if you ever want to unsubscribe, there’s a link at the bottom of every email to do so.)
Again, the next live call is Thursday, June 4th. Click here to register to join me live and get access to the replay afterwards.
Whew! That’s a lot of stuff! Thanks for making it all the way down to the bottom — here’s a virtual cookie for your efforts: a photo of Nika in her MailChimp hat. Because, well, cats in hats.
That’s it for today! Go get creating!
PS — Pssst! Know someone who might benefit from seeing this today? Pass it on!
