Self-Doubt Gremlins Got You Down?
You’re not alone! Everyone (yes, everyone) has those nasty, critical, self-doubting voices in their head. (Including me!)
“You’ll never be good enough!”
“Everyone else does it so much better — you should just quit.”
“Who do you think you are to do this? You’re not a real artist [musician/writer/maker/etc. etc. etc.]!”
“How can you even think about creating right now, when so many people are suffering?!”
I call those voices gremlins. And gremlins will say anything and everything to keep you from doing anything creative.
Because gremlins exist to keep you inside your comfort zone.
(Yep. They’re trying to keep you safe. It’s kind of sweet, actually. If it weren’t so darned destructive!)
And creativity only and ever happens outside your comfort zone. In the zone of uncertainty.
So, odd as it sounds, gremlins are scared of creative play! And they’ll do anything to keep you from doing it. Including lying.
Here’s the truth: creative play is essential.
Not only is it one of the fastest routes to happiness and self-fulfillment, but it’s how you change the world.
But taming gremlins doesn’t always come easily. Check out the free resources below for help!
