Day 2 of The Half-of-March #creativesandboxcommunity #marchsandboxchallenge, hosted by @carla.la.la.olson. Today’s prompt: “roar.” Omigosh, it took me a long time to find a way to draw this that I could reproduce on the fly!
I’ve decided that’s my goal for this challenge: to land on a way to draw whatever the concept is, quickly and without a visual reference, so that other people will have a chance of actually understanding the concept I’m trying to communicate.
I’m trying to build my visual vocabulary here! The goal is not to become an illustrator, or an Artist, but to communicate ideas more effectively. To use images to enhance my visual notes.
I now have a “formula” for drawing “roar” that works relatively well.
Could it be better? Absolutely! But I’m not aiming for perfection in this challenge, merely for improvement.
As an ex-boyfriend of mine used to say, better is better!
Before I started this scribbley sheet, I had no idea how to draw “roar.” Now I have one formula that I can do without a visual reference. That is definitely better!
Win! 😊 (And oh, how scary vulnerable it still makes me feel to share my practice sheets! 😜) #practice #doodle #doodles #doodlesofinstagram #originalart #suchasitis
