So how’m I doing in my quest to re-invent my life, follow my evolving Blisses and create the life I really, really want?
A lot better, thanks to a life coaching session today, in fact!
I’m trading web design and WordPress tutorials for life coaching, and am I getting my money’s worth (so to speak)!
[Note: at the time of this writing, the site I’ve designed for Susan, my life coach, is NOT YET LIVE, so if you click on the links you’ll see the OLD site, not the new one. Check back in about a week…]
It’s amazing how input from a coach – someone who’s seeing things from the outside, and is (by definition) on my team – can turn long-term stuckness into forward movement with just a few words.
Life coaching rocks!
And in case you’re interested in more details, here’s an excerpt from Susan’s recap email:
Congratulations on freeing up some valuable time for yourself! You took a big step toward walking your talk about wanting to spend your time doing the things you WANT to be doing (writing, making music and art, and interacting with people in a helpful way such as mentoring or teaching) and being financially compensated for what you are doing. You also took a step closer toward feeling less overwhelmed by eliminating the [pro-bono] job from your plate.
To continue moving toward this goal of feeling like you have enough time to do the things you want to do and are not overwhelmed:
• Set some boundaries with [client] for the rest of the work she wants done
• Improve your email organization (set up filters, maybe a folder for Urgent items)
• Structure your schedule so you have time set aside for being creative. We talked about mornings from 9-12 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. You will spend the first half hour painting or playing music and then write for two hours.
• Get the paintings ready for [the To Life! street festival on] Oct. 10. You may be doing this in the time you designated for creativity or later in the day. You probably need to do about 4 a week (one every other day) until the street festival.
Thanks again for the amazing work you’ve done on my website! I’m so excited.
Watch for a link to Susan’s new website sometime next week…
And for goodness sake, if you have to choose between reading my blog and doing your creative work, step away from your computer and get creating!
