Back home after almost three solid weeks of being away, and I get slammed with a cold. ?
I’ve spent the past two days in bed–achey, headachey, just plain drained.

Not too drained to doodle, though! ?
Even when I’m feeling crappy, I can still play in the #creativesandbox.
Just give me something to draw with and something to draw on, and a quick reminder that there is no wrong (that’s Guidepost #1), so I can get in that Creative Sandbox mindspace, and PLAY!

My body still feels crappy, but I’m in a happier mood. That’s gotta be a good thing. ?

My week at the #CreativeProblemSolvingInstitute #cpsi2017 was packed to the rafters with activity, so my doodle time was usually in class, in my notebook. Studies show that doodling / constructing / assembling with no set outcome actually enhances retention of information.

Doing so with a predetermined outcome has the opposite effect, so don’t try to draw a portrait or still life or landscape while attending a lecture and expect to absorb any of it!
But random doodling or assembling LEGO® bricks in a random manner (three-dimensional doodling!), as I did in between assigned exercises in the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshop last Saturday, actually HELPS you absorb and retain info!
