My subscribers are some of the most amazing, creative people I know, and as such the rest of the world should know about them. To that end, I’ve started an ongoing series, in which I periodically showcase a few of my new and longtime subscribers right here on the very pages of my blog.
So, with no further ado, I present for your viewing pleasure three more of my amazing and talented subscribers – all Thriving Artists Project members, as it happens – who are worth watching.
Happy weekend!
Toby Simon – Calligraphy, Illustration and Love Stories
Fellow calligrapher (and Thriving Artists Project member) Toby Simon runs her own business selling custom stationery at the aptly named Savor the Date. Her specialty, as in the image above, is save the date cards with customized illustrations of the couples, or of their city – totally adorable – plus plus customized invitations, greetings and accessories for all occasions.
As a letter-lover myself, I’m expecially charmed by her decorative initials.
For even more adorableness, check out Toby’s blog, Savoring the Date, where she features real-life love stories of her clients and others.
Skaja Wills – Creative Wackiness and Pink Hair
Skaja is a TAPer, and “a mixed media artist who loves blue, and has pink hair, a husband supportive of my art supply shopping habit, along with a whole slew of adorably cheeky cats.” She shares her art (acrylic, digital, fiber, marker and ink, mixed media and photography) on her website (subtitled “creative wackiness”), and posts a daily random photograph (sometimes of one of her many cats) at 365 Random.
Julie Shackson – Artist in Many Media
TAPer Julie Shackson’s first loves were knitting, wool-craft and painting. She carries those early passions into the present with compelling works in textiles, mixed media collage, paintings, photography, Polaroids, and book arts. (Check out the different cool header featuring some of her work on each page of her site.)
(Also, fyi, Julie has a cottage for rent if you ever need a place to stay in Wales. Looks blissful to me!)
That wraps up today’s dispatch. Enjoy, and go get creating!
PS – Want to be included here in a future subscriber showcase? All blog subscribers are welcome to apply. If you’re not already a subscriber, you can sign up using the form at the upper right, then send me a link to your cool, creative stuff.
