Sunday morning doodle. Miniature black and white abstract drawing.
Where do these images come from? I have no idea! And that’s the joy of it. ?
I let my inner 4-year-old inhabit the tip of the pen and take over. It’s always a surprise where it will go and what will happen.
This kind of art takes courage. A daily practice of this kind of art requires fully embracing the Creative Sandbox Way Guideposts:
1. There is no wrong.
2. Think process, not product.
3. Think quantity, not quality.
4. Think tiny and daily.
5. Just start. Anywhere.
6. Ask “What if..?”
7. Take the riskier path.
8. Dismiss all gremlins.
9. Spring the Comparison Trap.
10. Treat yourself with compassion.
This is why I call doodling a spiritual practice. You cannot embark on a practice like this — really take it on — and not be transformed by it.
Not only has my art transformed over the weeks and months and years that I’ve been practicing, but *I’ve* transformed.
The Creative Sandbox will do that. I call it walking the Creative Sandbox Way.
Check out my book, The Creative Sandbox Way, for a hands-on guide through the process. You can even download a free sample at http://bit.ly/2dnWyeJ
