I added a little more to this morning’s doodle after the live Doodlecam was over, because I was having so much fun with it! Can you tell what I did? 🖍
Here’s what I noticed in today’s Doodlecam: the longer I spend sending gremlins away to get pedicures, the more free my inner 4-year-old feels to take free rein inside the tip of the pen.
🖍
At the start of every creative sandbox doodle session, even after doing this for *years*, there’s still this initial hesitancy inside. I leap into it, so it may *appear* that I have no qualms or doubts, but internally my gremlins are still there, questioning my every move. I’ve just learned to NOT LET THEM STOP ME! I thank them for their concern and send them off to get pedicures. And what I noticed today is how FREE my inner 4-year-old got a few minutes in, as she realized that she was truly safe from the gremlins, that I was truly going to protect her from them.
🖍
Knowing she didn’t have to worry about the gremlins—that I had them taken care of—allowed her to fully let go!
🖍
Of course, all of this is me: the gremlins; my inner 4-year-old; the part of me protecting my inner 4-year-old from the gremlins. But somehow conceptualizing them as 3 different entities helps. Plus it’s FUN! 😄
🖍
Try it yourself, and let me know it it works for you!
🖍
And watch the video of this doodle being made to hear me talking about what’s going on in my mind the whole time!
