I’ve been reading The Coaching Habit, by Michael Bungay Stanier of boxofcrayons.biz (highly recommended!), and throughout the book there are links to a page with these helpful videos that illustrate the concepts in a little more depth, or just from a slightly different perspective. This morning I did a little sketchnote of one of the videos, a short webinar called “How to Help Your Team Find Focus.” It was fun to flex those sketchnoting muscles again! I just spent the last hour leading a Virtual Playday for my Creative Sandbox Community. First, I gessoed a couple of clipboards (which I use for games during my Creative Sandbox Retreats), and then in the last 15 minutes I made this doodle.

Aaahhhh… such a gift to give ourselves creative sandbox playtime! And such an *essential* gift, because play not only boosts your mood, it also boosts willpower, which means it gives you more PATIENCE and FOCUS, so you’re better able to get all that “worky-work” done, without succumbing to distractions! 🖍

More hands. Starting from the Day 2 prompt of “strength” from this month’s creative challenge inside the Creative Sandbox Community. Fists I’m starting to feel fairly comfortable with (just don’t look at the two in the upper left, okay?) but hands holding pens in writing positions? Gaahhh! It’s as if my eye cannot see those shapes! As if there’s nothing to hold onto. 🖍
I have not given up. I will try again tomorrow or the next day. I simply haven’t figured out the “formula” yet. Eventually I will get it, I’m sure, if I persist. 😊
