6″x6″ work in progress. Adding color to those grooved lines is really close, meticulous work, which I’ve spent the past few years rebelling against doing, but apparently it’s not the detail work that I hate, it’s all the planning ahead. If the detail work is improvisational, then I actually kind of enjoy it. It’s very meditative. One of the great things about retreats is that you just get so much more creating done! I’m lucky if I complete one painting a day at home. I’ve got a little stash of pieces piling up here!
