And I did! I doodled with THREAD!

I’ve had a hankering to see for awhile. I may be pulling out my Janome one of these days, but there’s nothing like the feeling of pulling thread by hand.

I’ve got a drawer full of painted papers, so I picked one and started sewing with linen thread. Doodling with thread! Then collaged on a “yes” made with my mechanical typewriter (another one of my pet passions). What are you creating today?

Saturday morning doodle. Getting ready for Day 5 of my week-long Launch Party for The #CreativeSandboxWay with a Facebook Live at noon PT today on gremlin whispering.

Those pesky gremlins used to keep me from making art. “Not good enough,” they cry. “Who do you think you are?!” “People will laugh at you!” “Don’t embarrass yourself…” And on and on.

They haven’t stopped. I’ve just gotten better at ignoring them. ?

Taking a break to make a MESS! That’s what I call my creative playtime: making messes in the Creative Sandbox. ? Nothing gives me more joy!
Sometimes the mess is more metaphorical than literal, but tonight it was more on the literal side, with wet watercolor ground, watercolor paint, ink, and more. SO FUN!

I’m not crazy about how it looks right now, but that doesn’t matter, because it’s not ABOUT the outcome! Guidepost #2 of my Creative Sandbox Way is “Think process, not product,” because the purpose is JOY!

AND because focusing on process is what will eventually lead to the most interesting product… though not necessarily in the short run.
