20 minutes in the morning, focused on black marks, letting my mind float where it will. It’s like meditation… but not.
No judgment, in terms of “good” or “bad.” Assessment, yes. But not criticism. The internal dialogue, instead of “yuck! I don’t like that!” is more along the lines of “hmmm… Interesting. What next?” Not striving to create greatness, but instead following curiosity.
This is Creative Sandbox play at its most elemental. My pen and paper are the bucket and sand. My headspace is that of a 4-year-old.
It’s my favorite way to approach creating.
