When I do an abstract doodle, I let my inner 4-year-old inhabit the tip of my pen. Often, what she’s doing doesn’t make any sense. It’s WEIRD! It’s UGLY! It’s BIZARRE! It’s embarrassing, for goodness sake!
🖍
None of that matters. My inner 4-year-old doesn’t care about ANY of that. She’s FOUR!!!! 🖍
All she cares about is exploring, playing, having fun, and “what would happen if..?” (Recognize guidepost #6 from The Creative Sandbox Way™? Ask “What if..?”! 😊) She doesn’t give a whit what anyone else thinks, because she’s playing in the creative sandbox, and she’s not trying to impress ANYONE! 🖍
The creative sandbox is all about PROCESS (“Think process, not product” is guidepost #2)
🖍
The more you can let your inner 4-year-old inhabit the tip of your pen, the more fun you’ll have, and the more creative you’ll be. I guarantee it.
